need supplement charge.
- From OSAKA (KANSAI) International Airport
The "Haruka" Express of JR railway directly connects
Kansai International Airport to JR Kyoto Station.
It takes approx. 75 minutes,
and costs approx. 3500 yen (including supplement).
- From OSAKA (ITAMI) Airport
There are several different ways, but the simplest
(and recommended) way is to take
a direct limousine bus to JR Kyoto Station.
It takes approx. 1 hour and cost approx. 1300 yen.
The time is quite sensitive to the trafic jams.
- From New TOKYO (NARITA) International Airport
You should first go to JR Tokyo station by one of several ways.
One possible way is to take
the "Narita" Express of JR railway (approx. 1 hour).
From JR Tokyo station to JR Kyoto station, see the next section.
The total cost should be between 15000 yen and 17000 yen
(including supplement).
- From JR Tokyo Station
Take "Tokaido Shinkansen" which is bound to Hakata (or Shin-Osaka).
Remember that there are other Shinkansen's such as
"Tohoku Shinkansen", which is a completely different line.
There are three types of trains in "Tokaido Shinkansen";
"Nozomi", "Hikari", and "Kodama".
You should take "Nozomi" or "Hikari".
"Nozomi" is the fastest; it takes approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes to
Kyoto, and costs approx. 14000 yen (including supplement).
"Hikari" takes approx. 2 hours and 40 minutes, and costs approx. 13000 yen
(including supplement).
Do not use "Kodama".
